I've heard from someone on another super8 forum that apparently both Dwayne's and Kodak's own development labs have been foregoing the final rinse/lubrication of newly developed Kodachrome stock that is sent to them for several years now. If this is true, it might explain why some people have gotten back dirty prints from Dwayne's. By cleaning the film, it should remove this residue. For projection, he also recommended that the film be properly lubricated to avoid damage. I'm not an expert on what is involved (somehow I don't think photoflow will work here) but maybe someone a little more experienced with film cleaners can recommend something suitable.

A couple of my films are dirty. My favorite is the one with Harry Reems and Linda Lovelace.

I think you are referring to Martin Baumgarten, the tireless advocate of S8 lubrication...The cleaner/lubricant I use is the ECCO stuff... Ecco 1500 or something like that... Do a search on "Urbanski film supplies" -- he sells it there.
